featuring the works of Michele Rudder

Celebrating the works of charismatic and widely exhibited French-born local artist, Michele Rudder, this exhibition explores the journey of the emotions of the feminine experience - like joy, connection, loneliness, tough decisions, loss - throughout life.

The exhibition opens with a touch of ooh la la on Monday March 4. Join us for a fabulous evening of French-themed bonhomie including champagne, French canapés and live music. Tickets limited.

It is open free to the public from Tuesday March 5.

Illuminate

In collaboration with Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre, this handpicked exhibition explores the subject 'Contemporary Landscapes of Women Imagined', showcasing the works of female artists based in the Noosa, Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions, including the XX Factor potters. 

Over 12 months in the making, Illuminate features paintings, sculpture, new media installation, fashion and film, a commentary on the social, cultural and political landscapes that inform the artists' lives as women.

 

This exhibition opens at the venue on March 1.

Official opening, free to the public, is Sunday March 3 at 3pm.

International Women's Day

After a full house and rave reviews in 2018, this International Women’s Day we return to bring you Steppin’ Out.

 

Join us for a fabulously entertaining evening of inspiring and thought-provoking speakers, music, singing, dance and laughter as we celebrate the incredible diversity, contribution and changing landscape of women in our community.

 

The line up includes award-winning singer Catherine Alcorn, renowned for her powerhouse vocals and razor sharp wit, and described as ‘a jewel in the crown of Australian cabaret’.

 

She is joined by Survivor contestant Tara Pitt and leadership expert James Greenshields, speaking about mental health and their journeys of resilience, Comedian Carolyn Mandersloot, singer songwriters Lara-Jane Stewart and Alisha Todd, Noosa Professional Dance Academy and Sunshine Beach State High School’s award-winning string orchestra.

Women of Story

This is an Intergenerational Women’s Story and Art Exhibition in celebration of International Women’s Day. Curated by Peripheral Arts, Women of Story is told by a collective of Sunshine Coast female storytellers, artists and musicians.

It asks, Have You Considered: A Women’s Story via Masks, Photography, Animated Art and Song?

 

In 2018, Peripheral Arts and WINDO Inc. collaborated on a story crafting and mask making workshop series, The Story of US, and this exhibition is the culmination of the women’s stories and art created. from them. 

It includes animation by Alicia Sharples, music by Lara-Jane Stewart and photography by Dr Lisa Raith. 

This exhibition opens at the venue March 1. The Official Exhibition Launch and Celebration of Women’s Stories is on Friday March 1, 5:30pm for a 6pm start.
