Window To A Woman's Soul

To launch its International Women’s Week Festival, WINDO proudly presents this photographic dedication to the extraordinary women of Noosa & the Sunshine Coast, as nominated by our community.

The exhibition features 24 stunning portraits by renowned local photographer, Susan Hudson , to the audio-visual backdrop of highlights from each woman’s story, as interviewed by Noosa FM’s Women’s Conversations presenter, Josanne Falla.

Gain a rare glimpse inside the inner worlds of well-known and lesser known local identities including Sandy Bolton, Meg Lawrence, Toni Powell, Leanne Walsh, Andrea Kirwin, Aimee Sherriff and Dahlas & Lana Rogers. The inspiring nominees have have often overcome great odds to give back to and shape our community, economy, politics, the arts, sports and environment.

What does it take for women and girls to feel strong, safe, powerful and heard in our community? Five inspiring female speakers share their incredible stories and real life learnings. This great event will include a live performance by Lara-Jane Songbird from her stunning new EP plus morning tea and a chance to mingle with like-minded women in the community.

Rachel Clancy - Hit The High Notes

When Rachel was told she had advanced Stage 3 cancer of a rare genetic strain, she walked away from running an organic farm to pursue her passion for singing. Fifteen years later, the professional performer and artist shares with us how pursuing her dream helped to save her life.

Karen Marsh - Creating Safe Relationships

After escaping domestic violence with her young son, Karen became a psychologist and counsellor passionate about understanding the causes of domestic violence. Her pioneering work teaches women, men, girls and boys how to move beyond family dysfunction, create safe relationships and heal.

Emma Hicks - Live Life On More Than Baked Beans

Life experience taught Emma that it is vital for women to be financially educated to stand in their power. Her mission is to teach women how to better manage their finances to build the life they truly desire and protect themselves and their families.

What is true Empowerment?  Through the power of storytelling from Women Who Run With The Wolves Nycole and Lisa explore their experience that the revival of intuition is an integral part of the initiation into womanhood.

This International Women’s Day, join WINDO for a fabulously entertaining evening of inspiring and thought-provoking speakers, music, singing, dance and laughter as we celebrate the incredible diversity, contribution and changing landscape of women in our community.

This will be a great all inclusive community event for women, men and teens. The speakers include:

HUSNA PASHA (The Project) 'Being a [muslim] woman in the 21st century. What does empowerment mean for a Muslim woman within her own community, her religion and the world at large? What challenges do Muslim women share with all women?' Interwoven with her own unique story, inimitable style and comic relief, media personality Husna dispells the myths and shares her views about how we move towards greater unity.

SARAH GALE (Project Runway Australia)

'The journey home: Reclaiming, celebrating and empowering our unique, authentic selves amid the noisy world of contrived beauty and false power.' After decades of leadership in the competitive fashion industry, Sarah shares her views about the aesthetics of the soul through her pioneering work and revolutionary self-discovery program, Wearing Your Worth™.

'A new kind of conversation: How can women and men navigate our fast paced and disconnected culture, its impact on relationships, mental health and gender related issues?' Highly engaging, Paul is an experienced international leadership trainer passionate about men’s health and actively involved in community workshops with not-for-profit group, Men's Wellbeing.

Plus there will be special performances from Andrea Kirwin – Rachel Clancy – St Teresa’s Catholic College Choir & Rock Band ‘Soul Collective’ – Noosa House of Dance – Musica Choir – Tio Kurun Waran with artwork from Peter Mulcahy.

WINDO in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance (SCCA) invites you to the SCCA March Juice & Jam Arts Breakfast.

SCCA is our region's major arts advocacy organisation, a not-for-profit group that promotes the value of our creative enterprises and artistic expression as drivers of innovation, business, culture and regional identity.

The Art of Storytelling - BOOKED OUT!

WINDO has teamed up with Peripheral Arts to offer a fantastic FREE community arts program this winter.


Over 4 weeks, we will meet for a 3-hour weekly workshop around story crafting to help women and girls define, craft and share 'The Story of Me'. 

Learn and try out skills in writing, performing and mask making, all in a safe, fun space with other women.


The four weeks will explore:

  • Why Stories Matter

  • How to develop your 'The Story of Me'

  • Sharing stories - 'The Stories of Us'

  • Documenting and sharing our stories

The program will be facilitated by the delightful Dr Nycole Prowse - a poet, producer, director, playwright, author, educator and feminist scholar who founded Peripheral Arts.


She is joined by Dr Lisa Raith from Peripheral Arts and Psychologist and Arts Therapist, Dr Trudi Flynn.  The Mask Making workshop will be facilitated by WINDO Founder, Jeanette Dal Santo.  

Class dates Wednesday 18 & 25 July, 8 & 15 August.

Tap It - Your Creativity is Alive and Waiting!

To celebrate Seniors Week and the theme, ‘Celebrating a Queensland for ALL ages’, WINDO is excited to present what promises to be a fabulous luncheon with speakers Toni Powell and Dr. Janet Lee, plus live entertainment from Sunshine Coast band, Junction Road.


This is an all ages WINDO event to honour and celebrate the talent and wisdom of senior women in our community, who let's face it, are very much young at heart!


An internationally and TedX renowned speaker, Toni Powell is billed as an “irreverent storyteller, author, recovering worrywart and subject of ABC’s Australian Story that shares transformational stories in her entertaining and cheeky style”. 


Dr Janet Lee is a Gympie resident with a story to tell. She won the Emerging Queensland Writer Manuscript Award for her fiction manuscript, The Killing of Louisa, based on the Australian woman who was tried four times for the murder of one or the other of her husbands. Janet will explore creative confidence and the art of just going for it.


Morning Tea and a Light Lunch will be served. 

Please bring a friend and introduce them to the WINDO network! Tickets are limited and we expect will sell out quickly.


There will be an opportunity for Business Members members to place flyers and business cards at this event, plus ample opportunity to mingle and network.
